Mayo H. Royal, Jr., CPA is a 1972 graduate of Emory University earning the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. He began his career with a local public accounting firm in Decatur, Georgia. In 1980, Mr. Royal returned to his hometown of Newnan, Georgia to form a partnership with two other local CPA’s, and in 1982, converted his CPA practice to a sole proprietorship. In 1990, he and Rick Melville formed the firm of Royal & Melville, CPA’s.

Mr. Royal currently serves as the firm’s partner in charge of tax planning and preparation and monthly accounting services. His responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating the firm’s tax and bookkeeping departments as well as providing management advisory services, and personal financial planning services. Significant clients include construction contractors, electrical contractors, manufacturing companies, governmental agencies, non-profit entities, community service organizations, fast-food franchisees, employee benefit plans, and companies in service industries.

Mayo H. Royal, Jr., CPA has served as president of the Newnan Kiwanis Club and currently serves as Treasurer.  He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce and The Coweta Community Foundation.  He currently serves as a director on the Advisory Board of First Community Bank. He is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan.
